What is a volatility auction?

A volatility auction is an auction triggered at any time during the continuous trading session when an order can potentially be matched at the upper or lower end of the Fixed Limit (+/-10%). A Volatility Auction lasts for 5 minutes and mimics the behavior of the opening and closing auctions.
