"Weekly Watch" provides a snapshot of the key events, economic data, and earnings reports expected to influence the financial markets in the US and Saudi Arabia over the upcoming week, allowing you to stay ahead and capture market opportunities in advance.

Here are the key earnings reports and financial events in the US to watch:

Key company actions and financial events in Saudi Arabia to monitor are as follows:

U.S. Market Overview

The latest data shows that inflation in the United States has further slowed, with the core PCE price index rising by 0.1% in August, below the expected increase of 0.2% and the previous value of 0.2%. The core PCE price index, which excludes volatile factors such as food and energy, rose by 2.7% year-on-year.

As the preferred inflation indicator for the Federal Reserve, the PCE data is increasingly approaching the policymakers' 2% target. This could mark the beginning of further interest rate cuts in the future, aimed at boosting the Fed's perception of a slowing but still robust labor market.

Investors will have the opportunity to hear from a large number of Fed members next week, including Fed Chair Powell, who will continue to influence the markets. Market participants will closely watch for more clues about future monetary policy trends.

As inflation continues to cool down, Federal Reserve officials are now paying closer attention to the state of the job market. The widely followed "ADP Employment Report," often referred to as "small non-farm payrolls," will be released next Wednesday, while the more significant U.S. September non-farm payroll data will be published next Friday.

Next week, the corporate earnings spotlight will be on Carnival Corporation(CCL.US)  and NIKE, Inc. Class B(NKE.US) .

  • On Tuesday, Fed Chair Powell will speak at the National Association for Business Economics, and FOMC voters for 2024, Atlanta Fed President Bostic, and Fed Governor Lael Brainard will co-chair a meeting.
  • On Wednesday, FOMC voters for 2024, Bostic, Barkin, and 2025 voter Collins will participate in a group event, 2024 voter and Cleveland Fed President Harker will speak, and 2025 voter and St. Louis Fed President Bullard will deliver opening remarks at an event. Fed Governor Bowman will also speak.
  • On Thursday, Minneapolis Fed President Kashkari and Atlanta Fed President Bostic will have a fireside chat on inclusive economics.
  • On Friday, FOMC permanent voter and New York Fed President Williams will deliver opening remarks at a meeting held by the New York Fed.
