Oct 21 (Reuters) - Swedish investment firm EQT AB EQTAB.ST has formed a consortium with Neuberger Berman Private Markets and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) to acquire international schools operator Nord Anglia Education for $14.5 billion, it said on Monday.
The international schools organization operates over 80 schools in 33 countries and educates more than 85,000 students, EQT said.
Under the deal, existing owners EQT and CPPIB will remain shareholders in Nord Anglia, while Neuberger Berman is being added as a strategic partner in the consortium.
EQT is investing in Nord Anglia through its BPEA Private Equity Fund VIII.
