Riyadh - Mubasher: The General Authority of Ports (Mawani) has added the new shipping service "IGSX" of Folk Maritime to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.

The Authority explained in a statement today, Thursday, that this enhances the movement of exports and imports to and from the port, according to a vision supported by reliable and effective operations, and a safe and sustainable environment .

She said that this comes within the framework of "Ports" efforts aimed at improving the Kingdom's ranking in the maritime navigation network connectivity index, enhancing the competitiveness of ports, and increasing the strength of its connections with the ports of the East and West; in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics Services to consolidate the Kingdom's position as a global logistics center and a hub linking the three continents .

She added that the new shipping service links King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam with the ports of Mundra and Nhava Sheva in India, and Umm Qasr in Iraq, with a capacity of 1,800 standard containers .
