Dubai, UAE: Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility, the official dealer and authorised distributor of Polestar in the UAE, has announced the launch of the Polestar 3, the first Polestar vehicle to be produced on two continents. The launch of the vehicle marks a significant milestone for eco-friendly transport in the UAE and provides a premium, high-performance electric alternative to the most popular vehicle segment locally, the SUV.

The Polestar 3 features a distinctive design inspired by the Precept concept car, with a Scandinavian understated flair. The all-electric luxury car is a five-seater with a powertrain of up to 380kW and 910Nm. As part of Polestar’s entry into the highly sought-after electric SUV market, the Polestar 3 introduces new aerodynamic specifications that focus on the characteristics of this class of car, in addition to small but effective aerodynamic improvements, whether in terms of the front aero wing integrated into the car’s bonnet, the aero wing integrated into the rear bumper, or the rear aero blades.

Prototypes of the Polestar 3 were tested in the UAE last year, where temperatures reached 50 degrees Celsius, to fine-tune the air conditioning system in the world’s hottest region to ensure optimal performance.

The launch of Polestar 3 in the UAE is in line with the pioneering role played by Al-Futtaim Electric Transport, the authorized agent and official distributor of Polestar in the UAE, in developing a new system of sustainable transportation solutions to contribute to the national initiative to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.

“The launch of the Polestar 3 comes at the right time, as Al-Futtaim continues to invest in establishing a complete electric mobility ecosystem across the UAE, including our own charging stations, as well as the region’s first IMI-certified electric mobility aftersales training centre, which we opened last year,” he added.

The Polestar 3 will be launched with a rear-biased twin-motor, plus the optional Performance Pack includes a more powerful and torque-enhanced motor. With a 111 kWh battery pack, the Polestar 3 has a range of 610 km under the WLTP protocol* and can be equipped for bi-directional charging, allowing power to be drawn from the car into the electricity grid and plug-and-charge capabilities in the future.

Polestar 3 features a central computing system with NVIDIA DRIVE computer, along with Volvo’s next generation of advanced active and passive safety technologies, which are a core part of its DNA. These include the company’s latest innovations, interior radar sensors that can detect the slightest movements inside the car, to help prevent children or pets from being accidentally left inside. This system is also linked to the climate control system to prevent heat stroke or hypothermia.

Thanks to the collaboration with leading safety technology companies such as Zenseact, Luminar and Smart Eye, the Polestar 3 includes the latest Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology that is seamlessly integrated into the car’s systems thanks to the central computer.

The infotainment system is powered by the next-generation Snapdragon Cockpit Platform from Qualcomm Technologies, delivering immersive in-car experiences. The car includes the Android Automotive OS, developed in collaboration with Google, an evolution of the technology first introduced in the Polestar 2.

The materials used inside the Polestar 3 have been selected for their sustainability, without compromising on beauty and luxury. These include bio-sourced MicroTech, animal welfare-certified leather from the Scottish village of Bridge of Weir, and wool from fully traceable sources.

The standard package includes an air suspension, a panoramic glass sunroof, LED lighting inside and out, retractable door handles, and 21-inch alloy wheels. Optional packages, such as the optional Pilot Pack with Luminar lidar and the Performance Pack, boast additional capabilities and enhanced performance features.

One of Polestar’s key strengths in the UAE is its dedicated after-sales service network for electric and hybrid vehicles, provided by Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility. Recognizing the new expertise required to maintain eco-friendly vehicles, the company offers dedicated training courses on electric mobility technologies at its IMI-certified training academy.

The twin-motor Polestar 3 Long Range is now available for pre-order, with prices starting from AED 360,000.
