"TASI" rises 0.42% in a week.. and market losses of 3.9 billion riyals under pressure from "Aramco"

Live - Thabet Shehata: The Saudi stock market witnessed positive performance during the week ending November 21, 2024, to regain its gains, amid support from banks and telecommunications, and the market value declined under pressure from "Aramco".

The general index of the market "TASI" recorded an increase of 0.42%, with gains of 49.34 points, rising to 11,840.52 points, compared to 11,791.18 points for the week ending on November 14, 2024.

The market value decreased by 3.91 billion riyals, bringing the market capitalization of shares listed on Tadawul to 10.135 trillion riyals, compared to 10.139 trillion riyals at the end of last week.

Aramco shares witnessed negative performance, with weekly losses of 0.18% at 27.95 riyals, bringing Aramco’s market capitalization down to 6.76 trillion riyals.

Ten sectors rose during the current week, led by the insurance sector, which rose by 2.87%, the banking sector rose by 1.67%, and the communications sector recorded an increase of 1.45%.

The rest of the sectors recorded negative performance, with the consumer goods retail and distribution sector leading the losses after falling by 2.14%, while the basic materials and energy sectors declined by 0.66% and 0.23%, respectively.

Trading values declined during the week to about 26 billion riyals, compared to 36 billion riyals last week, a decline of 27.8%, so that the average values fell to 6.5 billion riyals per session.

Trading volumes decreased by 3.6%, reaching 2.71 billion shares, compared to 2.81 billion shares last week, with an average volume of 677.88 million shares per session this week.

In terms of stock performance, MedGulf Insurance recorded the highest weekly gains, after rising 21.8%, while the highest losses were for Addis, which fell 7.53%.

Saudi Aramco shares topped the stock activity in terms of value, recording a trading value of about 2.56 billion riyals, while Al Baha shares recorded the highest volumes with 1.65 billion shares.

The parallel market witnessed weekly gains, as the (Maximum Growth) index rose by 3.64%, adding 1,072.57 points to its balance, raising it to 30,540.28 points.
