PRESSR: CFA Society Egypt to Hold Its 13th Annual Conference in February 2024
Cairo, Egypt: The CFA Society Egypt will hold its 13th annual conference on Saturday, February 3, 2024, which includes the final qualifiers for the annual Research Challenge in Egypt, for the 13th consecutive season, to present a financial valuation report (fundamental analysis) to determine the fair value of the share of “Taaleem for Management Services” ( TALM ).
The competition will be followed by a panel discussion titled “Financial Planning in Today’s Economy: Necessity or Luxury” featuring Mr. Sherif Samy, former Chairman of the Commercial International Bank ( CIB ) and the Financial Regulatory Authority ( FRA ), Mr. Khalil El-Bawab, CEO of Local and Regional Markets at Beltone Holding, Mr. Mohamed El-Sherbiny, CEO of Fixed Income and Asset Management at NI Capital, economist Dr. Medhat Nafea, and Mr. Ahmed Abu El-Saad, Head of Asset Management at Azimut Group in the Middle East and Turkey and Chairman of the Egyptian Society of Investment Professionals. The panel discussion will be moderated by Mr. Ayman Abu Hend, Co-Founder and CIO of Advisabl , an American investment company, and a Board Member and Treasurer of the Egyptian Society of Investment Professionals.
This comes in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Financial Regulatory Authority, a number of members of the Egyptian Association of Investment Experts, and a large number of workers in the field of investment.
It is worth noting that the conference includes celebrating the new holders of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and the Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) Investing certificates.
This year, 26 universities participated in the competition, eight of which qualified for the final rounds, in alphabetical order: The American University in Cairo, the British University in Egypt, the Egyptian Chinese University, Assiut University, Helwan University, the University of London at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, Misr International University, and Ain Shams University.
For the third consecutive time, the first two winning teams for the Best Research Reports Award are scheduled to advance to the regional qualifiers (Middle East, Africa and Europe), and from there to the global final in May 2024. An Egyptian team is also scheduled to participate in the Middle East competition in April 2024.
It is worth noting that the CFA Institute is the largest global investment institution in the world, as well as the global association of investment professionals. The Institute manages the CFA program, the CIPM certification, general research and professional development programs, and sets voluntary professional ethical performance standards for the investment field.
The CFA Institute also holds the Best Analytical Research Competition for publicly traded companies every year, to support students’ research and analysis skills, provide a suitable professional environment for evaluating companies, and present a professional financial report about them. The global competition includes 119 local competitions that include more than 1,000 universities represented by more than 6,500 students from 100 countries around the world.
It is worth noting that the CFA Society Egypt was established in 2005 as a non-profit Egyptian association and became a member of the CFA Institute in 2006. It seeks to meet the current needs of the investment field, increase integrity, eliminate investment literacy and develop professional skills in Egypt. The Society also won the CFA Institute Award for Most Innovative Initiative in 2011, and aims to meet the ongoing needs of the investment field and encourage integrity, investment awareness and professional development within the local investment market.
